Our kitchen is the heart of the family. Because of our lifestyle we choose that this kitchen be bigger than our upstairs living area. We are able to host a lot of impromptu dinners that are very relaxed around the island. Seating is not a problem and nor is the hostess as I have the luxury of shutting away any of the mess in the scullery. One of my main concerns is that with a kitchen this size it will not be ergonomic. On the contrary it is the most functional kitchen I have ever encountered. There is a place for everything and there are no sticky points where doors or people are knocking into each other. Everything that you need during any process whether it be making school lunches, emptying the dishwasher, preparing breakfast or preparing for a dinner party is close at hand and it flows.

The indoor outdoor flow works extremely well as well.

We love the clean and bold lines. It is a lovely neutral but strong canvas against which a bowl of fruit or a bunch of flowers looks like a piece of art.
